Hi,
This is a major question among the people of India. Why do 3G and voip services in India still lagging behind ? why do these services not implemented in India. Why do we have only one or two voip providers in India ?
Why ?
Sometime back, we heard that voip is officially legal in India and that MTNL is providing voip in Delhi and Mumbai. iPhone was also launched in India and then we heard about 3G services to be launched in India. But the major question is when will all this practically happen. What are the major problems that are stopping the progress of Indian telecom industry.
While surfing one of the voip magazines, I came across a statement of TRAI (Telecom Regulatory Authority of India) stating that it did not have enough enforcement powers and hence the delay in deploying services like 3G and VoIP.
If the authority itself will give such answers, and if TRAI don’t have the powers then who else enjoy these powers.
About the TRAI statute amendment, TRAI chairman said, “Our proposal for revamping the TRAI Act is pending with the government for two years. It relates to very specific powers of interconnection, issue of penalty because we have very little enforcement power so how do we impose penalty ?” Asked if he expected the 3G auction to be held soon, Mishra said it will still be another 6-8 months before users can access the third generation mobile services.
My question to them is because of laziness of babus (govt. officials), or because of any other reasons of Indian govt., why should a common man suffer…?

HI,
Growing number of voip providers giving cheap and free calls to India clearly shows the growth of voip in India and the progress of voip itself. Each new day a new voip provider is born and bring a new offer to attract new customers. Anyways customer is in no loss, indeed its getting something for free.
One such new free calling offer to India and Pakistan from USA/Canada is by IdeaIndiacall. The service was launched sometime back and it has gained a lot of popularity in short time only because of its new offer (both free calling and cheap calling).
This time again they have compe up with a free calling offer. Anyone living in USA or Canada can make free calls to India or Pakistan. You need not to register with them in order to make free cals, neither you have to buy any credit. No softphone, no download straight phone to phone calls.
The calling service is web initiated that means,
1. Enter your USA, Canada Phone number of their website.
2. Enter your destination number (Indian number).
3. Click call.
Now after a sort delay of about a minute, IdeaIndiacall will call you first then it will connect you to your destination. You don’t even pay a penny.
However there are a few limitations.
1. Each call lasts for 5 minute. You can test the service again.
2. You can test it again by making another call but only after 2 hrs have passed.
IdeaIndiacall also offers some other interesting voip deals like Double your minutes offers, and getting cedit on referring our friends. You can opt for these offers if you liked their service, as call rates are also very competitive.
Overall, a very nice free calling offer and a great service by IdeaIndiacall, surely worth trying.

Hi,
India has always been a popular destination both among users and voip providers. During past few months, a lot of voip providers have reduces their call rates to India. Be it Mediaringtalk, rebtel, Pingo, Airtel, Indiald and now its turn for the leader of PC to phone market Globe7.
Globe7 has been quite old in this voip markte, I actually used Globe7 at the time when it was offering free credit by watching videso. However those good old days have gone now, and Globe7 has changed its calling plans, though still maintaining reputation in this industry. Globe7 offers its users PC to Phone calls, voice quality is also good. Apart from that it also offers, TV channels, SMS service, Games, customized video channels etc.
Internet calling major, Globe7 has reduced its calling rate to India. Globe7 is now offering calls to Indian mobiles at just 2.09 cents/min, call rates to landlines depend on city you are calling. However the call rates lie in range of 2.09 to 3.5 cents/min. Just check how much will it cost to call your destination.
So, Globe7 is sure to give tough competition to Mediaringtalk (Call India at 1.9cent/min), both being Pc to Phone service.
Hey you know that local calls in India cost about Rs 1, STD calls about Rs1.5/min that means international calls using voip is much cheaper than local and STD calls in India. I guess local people of India should also try voip for making their local and STD calls. Now wat more you can ask about..!!
Cheers…

Hi,
Skype has a big name in this voip market. A large number of people use skype and for many voip is just Skype. If you are a iPhone user or a Google android user or if you want to use skype in your phone itself then we have a good news for you.
Skype has launched its mobile application for java based phones and Google android phones. This voip applicaton by Skype is named Skype lite. After launching this application for java phones, Skype is in mood to launch a voip application for Apple Iphone. This application will surely turn your apple iPhone into an ultimate gadget.
Skype is the most used voip in the voip industry. If you and your friend both install skype in your phone, then you both can actually talk for free. Apart from these free calls, you can use voip in your phone to make international and local calls thereby reducing your phone bill to a great extent. You don’t need to hook up to your computer for placing cheap voip phone calls. Actually skype used Peer to peer technology (P2P) for placing voip phone calls.
Its actually a good news for all iPhone users, however they still can try other voip application for iphones. Fring, truphone, iCall have already launched mobile application for iPhone.
Cheers.
