Hi,
Well the holiday season is near and voip providers have started giving some exciting new offers. First it was Pingo calling cards who is giving calls to any country in world at half rates (India at 2.75 cents/min). Now its Airtalcallhome which is offering all its new users calls to India at very cheap rates.
In the Diwali season too, Airtelcallhome lowered its price to India. We blogged about it and procedure to make calls using Airtelcallhome.

Airtelcallhome has launched a Thanksgiving offer in which it s offering upto 4.5 hours of free calls. In this season of sales and gifts, Airtel CallHome gives away more than 4 hours of Free Calling to you and 20 minutes free calling to your friend.
Lets see what actually is AirtelCallhome offering.
All these offers are valid if you purchase some calling card credit.
1. Firstly Airtelcallhome is offering 20 min gift calling card. You will receive this 20 min free calling as a separate account which you can gift to anyone to call back home. You can also yourself use this calling card.
2. Scondly, AirtelCallhome has lowered its call rates to India.
3. Apart from all this, it is offering some free calling minutes depending on how muc credit you purchase.
I calculated the effective price in each case, and found that if you purchase a card worth 5$ you will get around 125 minutes. So your effective rate to India will be 4 cents/min. In other cases call rates are high. So, its best to purchase 5$ calling card only. Considering the call quality Airtel callhome offers, its worth trying.
Cheers.
